DEER HUNTING AT THE COVERED GATE RANCH
The Covered Gate Ranch is widely known as one of the best places to hunt deer in South Texas. Our unique transitional terrain, combined with GPS technology and computerized topographical mapping, assist us in strategically placing hunting stations throughout the ranch. Thus, ensuring the highest likelihood of finding deer - and lots of them! In addition, these stations provide an excellent vantage point to observe all of the wildlife inhabiting the ranch. Our whitetail deer typically range from 130 to 150 B&C score. Our record for the ranch is a 204 B&C gross, and the largest for the 2001-2002 season was a 171 B&C gross.
THE HUNT
A typical deer hunting package at the Covered Gate Ranch begins with an early afternoon arrival. Awaiting you is a quick guided tour of the ranch and a visit to the shooting range to test the accuracy of your rifle. After that, your guide will escort you, one-on-one, to a great hunting experience. Following your evening hunt, you will enjoy a superb meal personally prepared by Irma. Throughout your stay you will be delighted by the congeniality and warmth of our entire staff.
DETAILS
All hunts must be booked in advance and secured with a $1,500.00 booking and base fee, which will be refundable if no kill. Day fee's still will apply.
